A NEW PARTNER IN CRIME: John Sheridan

The Mystery Bookshelf has a new partner!  John Sheridan will be writing reviews and contributing to the site.

Several years ago, John and I met through BookMooch.com, where we sent each other books and compared notes on our favorite authors.  Lately he’s been writing great reviews on LibraryThing.  Born, raised and still living in Dublin, Ireland, John will be able to offer a different perspective on crime novels and the trends occurring in Ireland and the United Kingdom.  I’m very happy to have his insight and wealth of experience on The Mystery Bookshelf.

John predominately reads detective fiction, and as a boy loved the Hardy Boy mysteries before moving on to Alastair Maclean, Peter Van Greenaway and Stephen King.  Over the last 10 to 15 years, his favourite authors have been John Connolly, Michael Connelly, Dennis Lehane, Lawrence Block and George Pelecanos.   From time to time, he dips into the classics or older detective series and likes to read them in order.  Currently, he’s working through Ed McBain’s 87th Precinct series.  Like me, John is a compulsive hoarder of books with hundreds waiting to be read.

Welcome to the Mystery Bookshelf!
